Flu season has officially started — and with COVID-19 still around. The good news? Now

offers both flu and COVID-19 vaccines. You can walk in anytime or book an appointment online through our website for a quick and easy experience.

Understanding Vaccine Season in Canada

In Canada, vaccine season typically begins in the fall, around late September to early October, and lasts through the winter months.

  • Flu season usually peaks between December and February, when viruses spread more easily due to cold weather and increased indoor gatherings.

  • COVID-19 boosters are also recommended around this time, as respiratory viruses tend to circulate together during the colder months. Getting vaccinated early in the season gives your body time to build immunity — so you’re fully protected before cases start to rise.

Why It’s Important to Get Vaccinated

Each year, both the flu and COVID-19 can cause serious illness, hospitalizations, and even long-term complications. Vaccination is one of the best ways to:

  • Prevent infection or reduce the severity if you do get sick.

  • Protect vulnerable people in your community — such as seniors, children, and those with chronic health issues.

  • Reduce strain on the healthcare system during peak respiratory season.

  • Stay healthy and active, avoiding missed work or family time due to illness.

Even healthy adults can benefit from the added protection that vaccines provide — your immunity naturally fades over time, so annual updates are essential.

Who Should Get Vaccinated

  • Flu shot: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older, ideally before the end of October.

  • COVID-19 booster: Recommended for adults and especially important for those with higher risk factors, including seniors, healthcare workers, and people with underlying conditions.
